you can, but i'm referring to the mouse's native sensitivity of around only 800DPI

my gaming mouse can go up to 2000DPI

I was getting pwned on CoD 4 cus my current mouse (this piece of crap) is crappy, stupid thing fires off one shot then reloads!! and if you bang the mouse on the desk it does random stuff, my other mouse (super cheap) doesnt even do that.
