i used to like to go out a lot but not so much after i am married and now w/ the baby on the way .... $$$ is the top priority. it's hard to find something that's a balance .. social, fun, challenging, and high salary .. lol .. gotta make sacrifices .. lol

well .. it's a trade-off ... more $$ means more wk ... you gonna have to miss some of those school activities with your family/kids ... then again, it's not an option if you have a family to feed, right? i am sure all parents try their best to spend time with their kids and family but it's difficult .. just like getting together with friends after college .. everyone is just as busy.

i think the most important thing isn't about the workload but your true happiness .. do i want to be a servant or pawn scum on the civil ladder for the next 20 years down the line earning crap? ... lol .. if you can handle that .. it's great. honestly though, everyone goes to college for the sake of a degree. interest always comes last .. only those RICH kids have that option .. unfortunately, i am not one of them .. lol

true .. gov means stable income but not sure in the us anymore .. not to mention low pay ..

a legal counsel/rep here avg pay is about $70K/yr (first year out of school) where as private is $185K/yr .. that's like heaven and hell of a difference. oh yeah, did i mention, that didn't include sign on and year end bonuses and school loan forgiven program .. high salary = more work but i think it's worth it to pay off the debt first before settling down. gov only forgives loan in chunk .. 1 yr = $10,000, etc...

you should explore other options .. don't lean too much towards your dad's business ..you can help on the side ..

i feel the whole point of going to college is to establish own goal and careers . fork our own path sorta speak ... independent is the way to go...

i am so glad that i had the oppt to go to college BUT after high school .. edu was so more difficult not cuz of the academics were more challenging .. it was cuz of CHOICES .. too many .. unlike high school where coursework was outlined and stuffs so you don't need to select ..

honestly, having options was great but certainly wasn't easy. i was interested in art, public health, research science, math, english lit, med, law, psych, music .. so how do you narrow down your main interest? yup, the azn tradition and job market determined my final fate .. lol .. SAD .. guess what, i hate my job ... just miserable.

why med or law .. easy .. cuz you're azn .. more specifically, you're chinese .. lol .. for a gal, it's either med or law .. guy .. two extras .. biz and engineering ... lol
