I'm not sure how to fix your quicktime problem, but if you want to just play it. You can try downloading GOM Player, it pretty much just plays you don't need anything else.

This site contains a detailed description of the video with screen capture and names of all the performers. I had no problems playing the 26 meg mkv video with my vlc player. The quality is better than the other one but the sound is a few milliseconds off. Enjoy
