I'm using a Razer Deathadder... at first I really didn't like the way it moved around the screen... it felt extremely 'twitchy' compared to my old Logitech.

I played around with the settings for a little while and finally found a DPi and sensitivity that I liked. Not a bad mouse, but in all honesty, it's not leaps and bounds better than a logitech mouse. If anything I'd say it's on par.
Thanks for the input. I've been using Logitech stuff for years now and I'm feeling the itch to try something new.

Very nice! I'm still a bit nervous about clipless pedals. What made you decide to go with Look? I'm just curious (I'm a road bike newb)

look were the first ones i've ever used (on my prev bike)
i had the look keo classic (the basic cheaper ones). since i bought a carbon bike now, i had to go with carbon to match lol

i liked the feel, and that way i can just switch shoes etc between bikes easier. the cleats are pretty cheap, and u have a few options of the float

the other one i've been recommended is speedplay. meant to be a lot lighter, but i feel theres less surface area on the pedal itself (may or may not be a good thing). i guess i've just been comfortable with look and decided to keep at it?

just bear in mind, you will have a few too many clip stacks to start...
while u ride, its all fine, u don't notice anything. its when theres a traffic light or a car pulls out in front of you - you forget that you're clipped and and just fall over =/
very embarrassing at traffic lights...
whats bad as well is, when u keep clipping in and out, youll notice you always do one leg before the other - and likely to wear out that side of the cleats

also when you're clipped in, if you take one out and leave one in ... make sure u lean the right way LOL
you can still fall over while stopped with one side clipped in... haha - speaking from experience that is

not to off put you - but it happens a bit. but after that - it becomes second nature and you don't notice it too much. it is much more efficient than standard pedals. the cost is kinda pricey, but i guess u pay for what u get =)

what bike do you have now?
i can't wait to see my new bike! its been shipped, but i'm in a diff location

Thank you for the info! :)

I do a lot of mixed riding. I commute to school 2 days a week with lots of stop and go so I think I'm going to get the clipless pedal attachments so I can wear regular shoes. I also do a lot of trails and long distance rides where we almost never stop on the weekends so I would love to clip in when we do these. I was planning on picking up the Shimano 105s or Ultegras but I'm gonna try out the Looks instead.

Haha I have a hard time dismounting with flat pedals when I have to make a quick stop. I've ridden mountain bikes and stuff all my life so I've become used to being able to touch the floor with my feet while on the saddle. I can't begin to tell you how my times I've had to fish for the ground with my toes or punched myself in the taint with the saddle because I forgot that I can't reach the ground while on the saddle.

I've never been the type of person to save money for the sake of saving money, maybe this is why I give RTH such a hard time sometimes. I would rather pay a premium for something that I know is well made and that it works well.

Damn. You're riding a carbon bike? Ballin! What bike did you just pick up?

I bought my first road bike a month or so ago. I got a 2011 Specialized Allez Elite.

nice!!!
my first bike was a specialized allez too!! i got the top end of that back in australia (with 105s)

yep - the fact that u can never touch the ground unless u tilt the bike is kinda awkward at first LOL

what's also interesting was i started out riding mtb's! friend got me into it, and i loved it (just wasn't fit enough ahahah)
then my car was gone, and i ended up buying hte road bike =P

i recently ordered an BMC road racer in the US hehe
can't wait to see it! full carbon =D

noticed you don't have a computer on it either? u should get something that has cadence too =)

well most of the pro's apparently ride with speedplay - so can't go wrong there
but if you look at the pedal itself, it is pretty small (and hence much more lightweight)

i need to get a new helmet too =P

Finally decided on the Razer Mamba. I bought a mouse pad as well but I wasn't too happy with it. Decide to stick with my Icemat instead.

Haha. How weird. Everyone on the bike forum started off on the Allez as well. Oh sweet. Mine has the Tiagras.

The mountain bikes I had were the cheap-o $100 ones so this was a big step up for me haha. When I went bike shopping for the first time, it was difficult to tell the weight difference between the bikes because I was so used to riding a bike that weighed a ton.

That's an old pic of my bike. I've since purchased and installed the Cateye Strada wireless. I've been using an app called Runkeeper and it makes the Strada useless. I'm thinking about switching to a computer that does Candence soon.

Oh damn nice! Post pics of it once you get your hands on it!

Are you gonna get one of those baller aero helmets to go with your carbon bike? :D

There was the version before the 2012 with a single sensor and it didn't have the option for customizable lights. I've been using it wireless because I'm anal about keeping things clean and I just hate having cables running all over the place. I had to switch to wired mode because the battery died. I guess because it wasn't fully charged when I unboxed it. Haha.

baller aero helmets require a TT bike! LOL
i don't like using the phone - since it kills a lot of the battery. the garmin 500 is apparently one of the better computers, but damn pricey (like about $500?). you just pluck it off and dl data onto your comp etc. not that pro to require it LOL

1 month to go! i'll see the bike! i'll have to assemble it though =(

Haha. Yeah.

I'm thinking about picking up another Cateye but with Cadence. I don't mind using my phone to log my rides. I did a 20 mile ride a few weeks ago and had my phone logging every minute of it and it wasn't too much of a strain.

Dudeeee, do a build log! :D

lol yea.. but do you keep the charger stand next to it? at the same time.. feel like its kind of a waste if I have the battery for it and don't even use it wireless..

Not at the moment, my car is red and I ordered it specifically with the stripe; they do have the Focal X Matte Black.

Also I bought 10 of these not too long ago:
