nice, i would consider doing a SSD swap into my macbook... but i'll wait a year or so... once prices become a little more reasonable. If i could get the 160 GB intel SSD for around 150 dollars, i'd go for it, as it stands its paying too much money for tech that people will laugh at 5 years down the road.

3 years?

Assuming SSD's follow moore's law, 1 year should not be unreasonable to get a 160 GB SSD for $150 dollars. Especially seeing as Kingston sells a 128 GB SSD for 260 dollars right now.

To be honest, I'm expecting a big drop in SSD prices come Fall of this year.

i bought a 2gb sd card for 30 bucks in 08. 2 years later they are probably for 5 bucks or less? anything can happen with technology prices.

The thing about SSD's is they don't seem to scale up properly when you look at dollars/gb. Its not like regular HHD's where size and money are almost perfectly matched across the board... It looks like for SSD's, the moment you get to 256 GB the price increases exponentially up to like 800 dollars

in his defence, Incase stuff is quite expensive, but well made. I looked at some of their stuff when i got my macbook and pricing is unreasonable.

I bought a $10 no name case instead.

If you have 1500 dollars to spend on a macbook, $40 for a case isn't too bad by comparison.

its rth though.....MSRP !=RTH

:shifty: I buy stuff at retail price... Just that when I really need it ASAP... otherwise.. I would have waited :shifty:.. I had no case for my $1.9k MBP (tax+SSD combined).
